Application Support Engineer (JAVA) (Immediate Joiner) Application Support Engineer (Java)
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Application Support Engineer with 4–7 years of experience in Java development to join our Kochi-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on support for our mission-critical applications, ensuring their stability, performance, and reliability. You will apply your Java and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex incidents, manage application deployments, and collaborate with development teams to ensure a smooth and stable production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide L2/L3 application support for Java-based enterprise applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to the application, including performing log analysis, debugging, and root cause analysis. Utilize your Java knowledge to analyze code, propose fixes, and work with development teams to implement resolutions. Manage application deployments and configuration changes on Linux-based environments, including working with application servers like Tomcat or Liberty. Execute and manage SQL queries to investigate data issues, support troubleshooting, and provide ad-hoc reports. Participate in a rotational shift or on-call schedule to provide 24/7 support for critical production issues. Monitor system health, application performance, and identify areas for optimization to improve system stability. Maintain and update operational support documentation, runbooks, and issue logs. Communicate effectively with end-users and stakeholders, providing timely updates on the status of incidents and resolutions.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4–7 years of professional experience in Java development, with at least 2 years in an application or production support role.
Technical Skills:
Strong programming and troubleshooting skills in Java. Solid experience with application servers, including Tomcat or Liberty. Proficiency in Linux environments for server management, log analysis, and shell scripting. Hands-on experience with SQL query management and database operations. Familiarity with incident management and support ticketing tools
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with local and remote teams. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
