Application Support - Java Developer

Brief DescriptionWe're hiring Application Support - Java Developer having 2 to 3 years experience for Trivandrum location. We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Java, ETL, SQL, and cloud-based production environments. This is a critical L2 production support role responsible for maintaining application uptime, resolving real-time issues, and ensuring smooth performance of enterprise systems. Key Responsibilities:

Provide L2 production support for Java/SQL-based applications.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Java applications, ETL jobs, and database layers.

Analyze logs, trace issues, and perform root cause analysis.

Write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, bug fixing, and reporting.

Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and QA teams for issue resolution and change implementations.

Monitor application health using tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, or equivalent.

Perform data validations and support data correction as needed.

Support incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL framework).

Participate in on-call support rotation and handle P1/P2 production incidents with urgency.

Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), resolutions, and known issues.

Required Skill Set:

Strong hands-on experience in Application Support for enterprise systems.

Proficient in Java/J2EE, with good understanding of exception handling and logging frameworks.

Working experience with ETL processes (any standard tool or custom ETL framework).

Strong command over SQL, including advanced queries, joins, indexing, and performance tuning.

Good understanding of Relational Databases – MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.

Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, or similar platforms.

Basic knowledge of Python scripting for automation and log parsing.

Exposure to Cloud environments – preferably AWS or Azure (e.g., EC2, S3, CloudWatch).
