Senior Infrastructure Database Administrator (5+ years of experience)

Brief DescriptionWe are looking for a Database Administrator responsible for setting up, administering, operating,  and maintaining complex Oracle database infrastructure and systems that serve as the backbone of business-critical Oracle Cloud Infrastructure service offerings. This is your chance to work in a complex environment connected with Database infrastructure (on-prem and cloud). Job profile Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5+ years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM*s or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. Role and responsibilities 

Ensure system availability 7/24 to critical Enterprise Application database(s) abiding by ITSM policies and procedures for Change, Incident and Problem investigation Installation of Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Postgres databases and associated data replication solutions Configuring databases for mission critical, highly available and high throughput applications Provide direction on database environments to ensure a high-level of performance, including an understanding of underlying storage, network and server infrastructure running Microsoft, Linux and AIX operating systems. Identify database environment gaps and implement improvements to database procedures and infrastructure scripts (monitoring, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, database refresh etc), including automation/self-service ideas Provide input on long term database roadmap vision, including upgrades and patching Perform design evaluations for migration strategies for on-premises Oracle and Microsoft SQL database(s) to cloud Migrate Teranet’s DBMS systems to Cloud utilizing your experience with migration tools and scripting Prepare and maintain all technical documentation for DBMS and infrastructure Preferred Skills You have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline You are certified in Oracle / Microsoft database technologies. 5+ years’ experience in database administration utilizing Oracle and Microsoft database solutions in a large corporate environment You have experience and knowledge of Windows Server, Linux and Aix operations You have an understanding and experience of DevOps, ITIL and ITSM foundation frameworks You have experience with Service Now, Solarwinds, Commvault, AppDynamics, Control-M tools is desired. Strong communicator (verbal / written) Able to work independently. Ability to lead ITSM processes (Change/Incident) Ability to install / configure SQL/Postrgres (Oracle DB’s a bonus) Ability to investigate / tune DB’s Ability to author SQL scripts and identify automation oppertunities Utilize our Corporate tools (Commvault/DBArtisan/ServiceNow etc.)
