Senior Systems Engineer

Qualifications and skills required: Graduate in any discipline with certifications preferred (Red Hat Linux Certified) Profiles having 5 plus years of Linux experience in IT industry. Hands on experience on Linux Administration / Troubleshooting / Security. In depth knowledge in the Linux operating system- Centos Control Panels: cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin Web Services: Apache HTTPD, Litespeed, Nginx, and Apache Tomcat. Mail server: Exim, Qmail, Postfix. Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL. Knowledge on MySQL clustering is an added advantage. Basic knowledge in Shell scripting. CloudLinux knowledge preferred. Should have been a part of at least one 'from scratch ' installation projects like (monitoring - Nagios, setup LAMP server, MySQL clustering, VPN setup, Backup configuration using rsync). Server virtualization: KVM, Xen, Vmware, OpenVZ Strong in Networking concepts and TCP/IP, its Linux commands. File permission settings, Security hardening, Firewalls (IPtables, CSF, APF) Knowledge in SSH hardenig, FTP Knowledge in DNS concepts and DNS clustering. Real time experience in handling server outages. Strong knowledge in RAID, Logical Volume Management (LVM), Linux Package management tools (rpm, yum, apt-get etc). Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision within an interrupt-oriented environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical and technical audiences. Willingness to learn new technologies. Good reporting skills. Proactive, flexible and customer focused. Good Knowledge on Logging & Scripting Good knowledge on all Firewall concepts & troubleshooting issues with Routing & Switching protocols. Strong knowledge and troubleshooting experience on VPN (Both IPSEC and SSL). Capability to plan and execute UNIX Security. MySQL Replication & Clustering. Network/Infrastructure Security technologies (Firewall, access control, intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, administrative access control) and compliance Good communication skills and needs to work in 24/7 shifts Working knowledge in Varnish, R1Soft, and Spam Experts will be preferred. Should be familiar with virtualization Scripting knowledge would be an added advantage Should be able to join immediately
