BI Engineer (Power BI)

Job Description

3+ years of professional experience in Power BI development. Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. Proficiency in Power Query for data cleaning and combining data from various sources. Strong understanding of Power BI’s calculation functionalities, including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).

Responsibilities include:

Develop, design, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for dashboards and reports. Optimize and improve existing Power BI solutions for better performance and usability. Conduct data analysis and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Integrate Power BI with various data sources and ensure seamless data flow. Work closely with data engineers and other team members to ensure data quality and consistency. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Power BI reports and dashboards. Document technical specifications, processes, and user guides for developed solutions.

Preferred SkillsPrimary Skills :

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field. 3+ years of professional experience in Power BI development. Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. Proficiency in Power Query for data cleaning and combining data from various sources. Strong understanding of Power BI’s calculation functionalities, including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions). Experience with integrating Power BI with various data sources such as SQL databases, cloud data sources, and APIs. Excellent knowledge of SQL for querying and transforming data to be used in Power BI. Proven ability to optimize Power BI reports for performance and usability. Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modelling. Experience in facilitating report sharing and collaboration within an organization. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders and convey complex data insights through Power BI.

Secondary Skills :

Certification in Power BI (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate). Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView). Knowledge of programming languages (like Python). Knowledge of ETL tools and processes.

Certifications :

Desirable to have certifications in Data Analysis/ SQL/ PowerBI/ Tableau.
