Technology Engineer

Brief DescriptionWe are looking to hire an experienced Technology Engineer for our client project in Onshore-Dubai. The role will play a key part in driving the engineering function across a range of technologies, delivering a standardized stack of consumable infrastructure products, and supporting the bank’s hybrid cloud and software-defined datacenter initiatives. Location: Onshore - Dubai Experience Required: Minimum 3+ years in relevant technical roles, with proven experience in cloud migration and infrastructure automation. Role Highlights

Lead engineering and delivery activities such as design, development, implementation, standardization, automation, and capacity planning.

Drive the hybrid cloud and software-defined datacenter journey using SRE/DevOps and IaC principles.

Collaborate with Technical and Solution Architects to define and implement optimal infrastructure solutions.

Contribute to open-source technologies while maintaining interoperability and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

Standardize and maintain infrastructure product stacks across data centers to meet workload requirements.

Automate installation, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure components.

Define product strategy, roadmap, and backlog; manage sprint execution using infrastructure-as-code practices.

Reduce product Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through automation, process optimization, and innovative solutions.

Enhance operational stability and address risk, audit, and problem tickets.

Conduct research, engage with vendors, and evaluate emerging technologies.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders across infrastructure, applications, architecture, security, and audit teams.

Preferred SkillsExperience & Technical Skills Experience:

Minimum 3 years in a relevant technical role in large organizations.

Led at least one transformation project migrating on-prem workloads to public cloud solutions.

Hands-on experience in cloud migration, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

GITOPS-driven configuration management and deployment.

Knowledge of comparing services across major public clouds, cloud adoption models, CPU architectures, storage, and network connectivity.

Knowledge of Windows internals.

Technical Knowledge (Essential):

Public Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, OCI).

API communications (REST/SOAP) and developing API consumers/publishers.

Configuration management, orchestration, and IaC tools: Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform.

Scripting: Groovy (Jenkinsfiles), Bash, PowerShell, Python.

Cloud connectivity, SDWAN, private connectivity principles.

Repository and artifact management tools: Red Hat Satellite, Spacewalk, Nexus.

Container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.

Preferred Knowledge:

ELK stack (Auditbeat, Filebeat).

OS compliance policies (CIS benchmarks).

Infrastructure fundamentals: DNS, SSL communications, Active Directory, certificates, load balancers, firewalls, Vault tools (CyberArk/HashiCorp), high availability.

Agile methodologies and ceremonies.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent (Essential)

Red Hat Certified Architect, Azure Cloud Architect, AWS Cloud Architect, or OCI Cloud Implementation certification (Essential)

Strategic thinking with R&D mindset.

Adequate understanding of project management methodologies.
