Calypso Technical / Functional Specialist (UAE, Onsite)

Brief DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Calypso Technical / Functional Specialist to work on enterprise-grade capital markets systems supporting front-to-back office operations onsite in Dubai. The role involves hands-on development, configuration, integration, and support of the Calypso platform across trading, risk, and post-trade functions. This position is ideal for professionals with strong Calypso architecture knowledge, Java development expertise, and a solid understanding of capital markets products and risk management.   Key Responsibilities

Implement, configure, and maintain Calypso front-to-back solutions

Work on risk management systems, including ERS limits and VaR setup

Develop and customize solutions using Calypso APIs (v15.2+)

Perform Java-based development and enhancements within Calypso

Design and support integrations with market data and trade capture systems

Configure P&L, accounting, curves, and market data in Calypso

Support front office, middle office, and back office workflows

Troubleshoot application, integration, and environment-level issues

Collaborate with multiple teams and contribute to solution design decisions

5–10 years of hands-on experience with Calypso

Strong understanding of Calypso architecture, modules, and APIs

Experience with front-to-back Calypso implementations

Hands-on experience with Java (1.7+) and core OOP concepts

Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and Calypso data model

Experience across Fixed Income, FX, Money Market, Interest Rate & Credit Derivatives

Experience integrating Calypso with Bloomberg, Reuters, TOMS, and other market data feeds

Understanding of Open API / integration patterns

Strong troubleshooting and system analysis skills

Experience with JBoss and build tools such as Gradle

Knowledge of network and server-level interactions of Calypso modules

Exposure to risk systems, limits management, and VaR configuration

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Ability to work independently and influence technical decisions

  Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience
