Backup Administrator – L2

Backup Administrator – L2 Employment Type: Full-time | Onsite.

Experience: 3–5 years managing enterprise backup environments.

About the Role: You will design, manage, monitor, and maintain enterprise backup processes, storage appliances, tape libraries, and cloud repositories. Responsible for ensuring successful backup runs, restorations, RCA for failures, and capacity planning.

Key Responsibilities: • Maintain backup servers, agents, storage systems, and tape libraries. • Configure policies, schedules, job types (full, incremental, differential). • Perform daily monitoring of jobs, failures, and retry attempts. • Execute restores for files, VMs, and databases as per approvals. • Perform RCA for failed/missed/partial backups. • Validate backup success through health checks. • Manage backup retention, storage consumption, and capacity forecasting. • Apply patches & updates to backup tools and agents. • Document backup architecture, SOPs, and restore guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience: • Experience with enterprise backup tools (e.g., NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, TSM, etc.). • Strong understanding of backup strategies and best practices. • Knowledge of storage systems (SAN/NAS). • Experience with VM/DB backup methodologies. • Good troubleshooting skills and RCA handling.
