Senior Business Analyst – Fintech Platform

Brief DescriptionExperience: 7–12+ years About the Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who can collaborate across engineering, product, data, and AI teams to define business requirements, translate complex fintech workflows into clear specifications, and ensure alignment across multiple squads. You will work across domains such as rewards/loyalty, partner integrations, merchant management, catalog/content, payments, reporting/analytics, back-office operations, and AI-powered workflows. This role requires technical fluency with Java services, Angular frontends, MS SQL Server, MongoDB, and GCP-based systems, as well as comfort using AI tools for analysis, documentation, and process optimization. Role Overview As a Senior BA, you will:

Drive discovery, requirements analysis, and stakeholder collaboration

Write detailed user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria

Define business rules, workflows, edge cases, and operational scenarios

Review microservice API contracts using Swagger/OpenAPI

Collaborate with engineering and QA teams throughout the delivery lifecycle

Support reporting, data mapping, reconciliations, and analytics requirements

Act as a proxy product owner when needed

Support UAT/SIT, production releases, and incident analysis

Use AI prompting tools to accelerate documentation, analysis, and knowledge management

You will work across multiple squads and multi-environment deployments, ensuring clarity and consistency in a fast-paced engineering environment. Key Responsibilities

1. Requirements Analysis & Documentation

Lead requirement discovery sessions with internal teams and external client stakeholders

Document functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules in JIRA/Confluence

Break down complex financial and transactional workflows into structured, clear specifications

Create diagrams and models (process flows, sequence charts, swimlanes, state transitions)

2. API Collaboration & Technical Understanding

Review API endpoints, request/response structures, and data formats using Swagger/OpenAPI

Validate payloads using Postman

Work closely with Java microservices teams and Angular UI teams to clarify behavior, system boundaries, and edge cases

Understand interactions with MS SQL Server, MongoDB, and GCP-based services

3. Cross-Squad Coordination & Backlog Management

Coordinate across multiple engineering squads

Own backlog grooming, prioritization, and dependency mapping

Serve as a communication bridge between product, engineering, QA, and architecture

Provide clarity and alignment across multi-environment development, testing, and release cycles

4. Testing Support & Production Readiness

Collaborate with QA to define test scenarios, acceptance tests, and data validation requirements

Support SIT and UAT cycles, ensuring coverage of real-world transaction scenarios

Participate in production validation, troubleshooting, and incident analysis

Help define reconciliation flows and data consistency checks

5. Stakeholder Management & Proxy Product Ownership

Partner with:

External client product managers

Client architects / SMEs

Designers / UX teams

QA & DevOps

Data & reporting teams

AI engineering teams

Act as a proxy product owner when needed—driving clarity, roadmap alignment, and decision-making

Communicate updates, risks, and dependencies effectively to all stakeholders

6. Reporting, Analytics & Data Mapping

Capture requirements for dashboards, KPIs, operational insights, and reconciliation reports

Define data mappings, field-level specs, transformations, and validation logic across SQL and MongoDB datasets

Ensure reporting needs align with transactional system architecture

7. AI-Enabled Productivity & Workflow Enhancement

Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or internal AI assistants) for:

Requirement refinement and summarization

Drafting documentation and acceptance criteria

Analyzing logs, payloads, business rules, and workflows

Generating scenarios, test cases, and alternative flows

Maintain accuracy by validating all AI-assisted outputsPreferred SkillsRequired Skills & QualificationsCore BA Expertise

7–12+ years of Business Analysis experience Strong experience in fintech, payments, rewards, loyalty, or high-transaction platforms Expert in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specs, and business rules Strong experience with process modeling, workflow diagrams, and requirements decomposition

Technical Fluency

Familiarity with Java microservices (API-driven architectures, request flows, downstream dependencies) Understanding of Angular front-end flows (UI interaction, components, routing) Strong understanding of SQL Server and MongoDB data structures Experience with GCP-based systems or cloud-first platforms Ability to write basic SQL queries for analysis and validation Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Swagger)
